As Arsenal continue to impress in their best campaign in two decades, they have reportedly set their sights on Southampton’s rising star, Romeu Lavia, as a potential summer transfer target.
Despite boasting a midfield lineup of Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka, Jorginho, and Martin Odegaard, the Gunners have been plagued by injury concerns this season, with Mohamed Elneny ruled out for the rest of the campaign due to a knee injury.
While Fabio Vieira has been touted as a promising prospect, Mikel Arteta appears to be in need of either a defensive-minded option or a versatile midfielder capable of injecting much-needed energy into the team.

In the meantime, Lavia has emerged as a potential solution for Arsenal, having caught the attention of the Gunners’ scouts with his impressive performances for Southampton’s youth team.
The 18-year-old Spanish midfielder has been tipped for a bright future in the game and has already made a handful of appearances for the Saints’ first team this season.
However, Arsenal may face stiff competition for Lavia’s signature, with a host of other top Premier League clubs also said to be monitoring the youngster’s progress.
