Good news for Manchester United fans and every football fan who enjoyed watching Mason Greenwood play after his charges got dropped. Mason has not been on the pitch for over a year after allegations of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behavior, and assault.
Following these allegations, Manchester United suspended the 21-year-old, removed him from their platform, and stopped selling his merchandise.
Today Thursday afternoon, Manchester United broke the silence by releasing a statement
“Manchester United notes the decision of the Crown Prosecution Service that all charges against Mason Greenwood have been dropped. The club will now conduct its own process before determining the next steps. We will not make any further comment until that process is complete.”
With this statement, Greenwood would not train or play with Manchester United until the club completes an internal investigation into how the allegations against the player were made.
However, Mason is already on Manchester United’s list.
Mason Greenwood later released a statement saying that he was relieved by this matter.
“I am relieved that this matter is now over and I would like to thank my family, loved ones and friends for their support. There will be no further comment at this time.”
The young lad can now focus on football.
