Marc De Mesel: The Businessman who lavishes billions on Kenyan girls

Belgian businessman Marc De Mesel is not giving up easily as he fights to ensure that billions of money he sent to his three Kenyan girlfriends to enjoy as ‘fruits of intimacy’ is not surrendered to the government.

On Friday, Justice Esther Maina allowed De Mesel to be enjoined in a cash freeze case in order for him to fight against a money laundering suit and prove the legitimacy of the funds he wired to three Kenyan women last year.

The three; Felister Nyamathira Njoroge, Tebby Wambui Kago and Jane Wambui Kago received a whopping Ksh 5 billion within day of opening their bank accounts from the Belgian who claims he invests in different assets such as stocks, bonds, precious metals and cryptocurrency.

Tebby received (Ksh2 billion), Ms Nyamathira (Ksh2.16 billion) and Jane Wangui Kago (Ksh980 million) between August and November last year.

The man claims the three are all his girlfriends and wants part of the money (Ksh 260 million) frozen by the Asset Recovery Agency (ARA), released so that they can continue enjoying “the fruits of being being intimate.”

He apparently sired a child with Nyamathira and says he sent her the money to secure a “good future lifestyle” for their child.

On Friday, Justice Esther Maina allowed him to join the case filed against University Student Nyamaritha, 21, so that he can prove he was not using the women to launder money as part of an international money laundering scheme.

In the Court case files, De Mesel says he is a crypto investor and philanthropist.

“I have invested, for example, in Tesla, an American automotive and clean energy firm in the past few years,” he said in court papers.
