Introducing KOT’s Very Own Rapper: Kilundeezy
If you have ever doubted the power of hard work, then you have a new reason to believe in this KOT’s very own rapper, Kilundeezy. He started sharing videos of his rap game on Twitter while the Kenyans on Twitter kept hating on them because you know, that is Twitter and banter is banter. All these hate did not stop him from prospering.
Kilundeezy eventually became likable with his persistence and a couple of people on Twitter would now share his posts supporting his trade. He kept at it and got the Twitter big wigs on his side and that was the beginning of his career flourishing. Believe you me, Social media can build or destroy your career. If you didn’t know or had your doubts then listen child!
Kilunda, who has been known now for a long time by his stage name Kilundeezy has grown on the streets of Twitter, recorded and produced his first single “Bomb ya Sadaam” on the same streets.
Every time he posted a short clip of him doing his thing, you could see the growth and him becoming better at it. Eventually, he was confident enough and did a whole song. When he was ready to record the song, he was short of funds and let his many fans know that what is holding him back from giving them a dose of greatness is a few chums and unbeknownst to him, his Mpesa was flooded by online strangers who were supporting him. He hit the studio and recorded it.
Humble beginnings matter. After recording, he came back to his online family yet again and asked for support to shoot a video for the track and believe it or not, the fam came through. Safe to say Kilundeezy is Twitter’s favorite. At some point, they even called him the G.O.A.T.
This Twitter-based project was such an amazing piece of work that on the first three days, Bomb ya Saddam garnered 20,000 views plus on youtube. Something unknown to new artists in the industry. KOT did not stop at that, they encouraged their very own and did their thing trying to get Kilundeezy shows, a short version of a media tour. The Kenyans on Twitter who you would think are made of just banter have souls made of pure gold. They sent the Nakuru based artist transport to Nairobi and one, who is an Uber driver offered to drop him at the NRG studios for FREE.
The Bomb ya Saddam hitmaker during the interview was the top trend in Kenya on Twitter. In the same interview, he announced his plans to drop yet another hit by the end of December. He further credited Twitter users Blaze, Osama Otero and Karigoh for being some of his strongest support systems, holding him through the days of the hate to becoming one of the most sought after artists by media houses. Chipukeezy recently invited him to his show and plans to get him to the trend are underway. He will be performing in 1824 on Sunday for the Sunday school and so far so good. Kilundeezy to the world!!!!!
Kilundeezy feels forever indebted to KOT but truth be told without his efforts and hard work, he would totally not be where he is. A story.
Till next time, we are black, we are African, we are proud.
Sending you good vibes. 🌴
