Outgoing Kesses member of parliament Hon Dr. Swarup Mishra alias “Kiprop” has denied claims that he has withdrawn the sponsorship of 300 students after losing the Kesses MP seat on 9th August.
Dr. Mishra has been funding close to 300 high school, college and university students from his own pocket since 2017 but recently after the August polls, reports emerged that the Indian born legislator had closed down the taps after losing the MP seat.
“For the past one week, the social media has been awash with FAKE NEWS that I have withdrawn scholarships for 300 Students from Kesses Constituency.
I urge you all to disregard the rumors, FAKE NEWS & sophisticated disinformation campaigns being peddled across-board”, Mishra tweeted.
Hon Mishra, a one term MP lost his seat to UDA candidate Hon Julius Ruto. He was first elected to The National Assembly in 2017 on a Jubilee party ticket until recently when he decided to seek a reelection as an independent candidate.
He’s also the owner and founder of Mediheal Group of Hospitals.
