About Cleophas Shimanyula

Cleophas Shimanyula is a Kakamega-born tycoon who owns multiple businesses and is one of Kenya’s wealthiest people. Despite his celebrity, he prefers to avoid public gatherings because of his issues.

His path to becoming a tycoon began when he was a tout known as “Manamba.” He was then later promoted to cab driver because of his passion for cars. From there, he took over the Homeboyz bus as a driver. And the rest, as they say, is history.

He is currently the owner of the Kakamega Homeboyz club, which is sponsored by the Giant Betting company, Mozart bet.

He owns several Matatu vehicles that operate in and out of Kakamega.

Shimanyula also owns and operates various enterprises in Kakamega County.

His influence in politics.

Shimanyula holds considerable power in Western politics. He was among those who supported Governor Wycliffe Oparanya’s election in the previous terms

He has also provided Vehicles for the Campaign to ANC leaders Musalia Mudavadi and Cyrus Jirongo.

in the 2022 general elections, he supported ODM candidate Fernandes Baraza. He even stated in the media that he will sell all of his properties to support Barasa’s candidacy.

“I will sell 3/4 percent of my properties to ensure Fernandes defeats Malala,” he stated in an interview.

even went ahead,  to dismiss ANC candidate Cleophas Malala, saying he was too young for politics and accusing Khalwale of being paid to step down in his place.
