President Uhuru Kenyatta has marked his last national holiday celebration during the 59th Madaraka Day celebrations held at Uhuru Gardens.
Kenyatta passed his vote of thanks to all of his cabinet for the good work they have been doing since he stepped in yhe the statehouse in 2013.
“This one looks different from the one am used to, but I want to thank you.It is my last Madaraka Day.We have worked hard together and I am confident that we have laid a firm foundation for those who will come in.Asanteni sana kwa kazi nzuri.” Kenyatta said.
The Madaraka Day celebrations was held at Uhuru Gardens which occupies a capacity of 30,000 people.
During the speech time,the President skipped his deputy Hon.William Ruto in protocol breach.Ruto was also not given a chance to address the nation.
The deputy president arrived early at the venue to receive Sierra Leone president Julius Maada.
In attendance there was ODM party leader Raila Odinga together with his running mate Martha Karua, speaker of the national assembly Justin Muturi and his senate counterpart Ken Lusaka accompanied by other politicians.
