Kenya rugby 15s (Simba’s) head coach Paul Odera has named his 28 man squad that is set to feature in the upcoming rugby world cup qualifiers set for France.
The team which has been in camp for two weeks will start their qualifier journey from 2nd to 10th July.
Commenting on the squad selection, Odera said, “We are confident that we have struck the right balance between experience and youth, we’ve also struck the right balance between skills, we’ve struck the right balance between personalities and how the team gels together.”
The Simbas will face Uganda in their quarterfinal match on July 2nd and Odera isn’t underrating his opponents Uganda.
“Our preparations for Uganda are like our preparations for the best team. Uganda is a very dangerous team, particularly against Kenya. They would rather lose to anyone but when it comes to Kenya, they raise their game. The approach is that we are playing a knockout match against an opponent who is equally good. The mantra in camp is this is the final and that is how we are approaching the game next week,” Odera told the press.
Kenya will be captained by Kabras Sugar RFC star Dan Sikuta.u
