Kenyan known Singer Kelvin Kioko, alias Bahati was handed a Jubilee ticket to contest for Mathare Constituency Parliamentary seat by Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni.
The Musian made headlines two weeks ago after breaking down into a cry during a presser after he was asked to step down from the race in favour of ODM aspirant Anthony Oluoch.
During ticket delivery, Jubilee party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni said that Bahati represent the face of the Youthful Nation.
“This is a sign of hope,I respect my president and I respect Honourable Raila Amolo Odinga but please give the youth of this country a chance.I Know there is zoning and Mathare has been zoned as an ODM area,but for this one time give the youth of this country a chance.Give the people of Mathare a chance to get the leader that they always wanted”. Bahati Said after being sacked the ticket.
After Lamentations,On Friday Bahati’s face was full of smiles as he paraded his certificate. “I would like to thank my party,I have my ticket.There were a lot of things going on but I will be on the Ballot on a Jubilee Party ticket and I can promise I will be the next Member Of Parliament for Mathare.Thank you very much to my party for the opportunity to run”. Bahati stated.
Bahati welcomed the move saying that he is ready to deliver the seat home.He hopes to succeed the current MP Anthony Oluoch who won the seat on the ODM ticket in the 2017 polls.
