Ford Kenya party leader and Bungoma county senator Hon Moses Wetangula will be seeking to defend his seat for the third time in a row after being handed a go ahead by the IEBC earlier today in at the county headquarters in Bungoma.
The prolific lawmaker who’s a co principal at the DP Ruto led Kenya Kwanza coalition has thrown his towel for the senate seat despite being promised for a senate speaker post if Kenya Kwanza forms the next government after the August 9 polls.
With the turn around of the ex Sirisia MP to the senate, a number of political enthusiasts in the country have mentioned Wetangula decision as a “Tactical Approach” with one option being a sure deal for him, others terming it as fear factor that he knows Kenya Kwanza won’t form the next government and he doesn’t want to be out of political matters completely.
Wetangula, popularly known as “Papa Wa Roma” in his backyard Western Kenya will battle with rookie Professor Ngome Kibanani, the current deputy governor of Bungoma who’s vying on a Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) ticket in the August polls.
