Health principal secretary Susan Mochache has raised an alarm towards the steady increase of Covid 19 cases in the country.

Addressing the nation during the World NO Tobacco day commemoration Mochache has urged Kenyans not to keep aside covid 19 measures.She has announced out to Kenyans that they should continue getting vaccinated and putting on masks.

“We have seen a rise in covid 19 cases, this should tell you not to assume that it’s just a Flu.You might assume then you get to a point where you are sick and you urgently need oxygen.I urge you put on masks and get vaccinated.

Speaking during the daily Covid 19 announcements, health CS Mutahi Kagwe said that the positivity rate has risen to 4.4% with 117 people having tested positive on Tuesday out of 2,632 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

“The youngest is a 2-year old kid while the oldest is 82 years old.Total positive confirmed cases are now 324,976 and test conducted so far are 3,670,179.” Said Kagwe.

The Health Cabinet secretary also noted that a total of 82 patients have recovered from the virus.
