Isaac Mwaura, a candidate for the Ruiru parliamentary seat, has pointed out flaws in the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party primaries held on Thursday, April 14.
Senator Mwaura, a Jubilee nominee, has disputed the preliminary results of the UDA party nominations in Ruiru, which show his arch-rival Simon Kingára Ng’ang’a winning.
According to preliminary findings, his main challenger Simon Kingára Ng’ang’a was on the verge of securing the ticket. After months of strenuous door-to-door canvassing to rally support among Ruiru locals, Mwaura’s parliamentary ambition appears to be in jeopardy.
Those deployed by Jubilee have only been there for three weeks, yet they have been permitted to stay. Because voting was not completed in a majority of places, we want the procedure to be redone throughout the constituency. We requested that Deputy President William Ruto intervene so that the Ruiru people’s opinions might be heard. He remarked, “Huu ni uchaguzi bonoko.”
Mwaura argued that the UDA nominations in his constituency were riddled with electoral defects and that they should be rerun.
He stated that rigging and other abnormalities harmed the exercise’s legitimacy.
“King’ara recruited goons to sabotage the training… We will not allow this drill to continue; we demand that it be halted. I want to assure the UDA party that we fully support it and will not allow its popularity to fade. We know Jubilee has dispatched operatives to sabotage the party. We are the ones who created this political party.
He stated that King’ara was a Jubilee stooge in the UDA and that he had no chance of winning because he had only joined the party three weeks before the nominations. He said that the election was delayed in certain portions of the district, while others were entirely devoid of voting materials. Mwaura has appealed to the UDA National Elections Board and Deputy President William Ruto to intervene and order a rerun of the election.
