The painful story of Sammy Boy , Kikuyu gospel musician who is serving life imprisonment

Gikuyu gospel  artist Sammy Boy who is a “No ira Tu ” hitamaker has disclosed the reasons behind his woes and why he was convicted to a life sentence .The untold story began when one of his close friend from upcountry left behind a luggage containing some stolen goods that he was not aware of . The stolen goods were later traced to his house and his friend was nowhere to be seen .This is way back in 2015.

His friend died through a tragic road accident thus complicating the case . Immediately after the arrest Sammy Boy was charged with Capital offence against robbery with violence. Since he could not not hire a lawyer ,the case didn’t favour as per his argument.

The court convicted him to life imprisonment.Soon after being sentenced to life imprisonment he learned that his wife had divorced him . However ,Sammy Boy has made an appeal to be released of which it is still processed.

Sammy Boy who serves his jail term at Naivasha maximu prison,was given teaching responsibility  to other prisoners due to his obedience.He believes that one day he will be set free.After Sammy Boy’s story was aired on  a TV programme “Njeraini Citu” two of the high court lawyers Ngugi IG and wakhome Thuku  have promised to follow the case keenly and also represent Sammy Boy during the appeal.

He now calls upon good Kenyans to pray for him and other inmates. He further said  people should know their friends well since everyone is not  a trusted friend .

One Kenyan has  taken to social to condemn Sammy Boy saying he is not innocent  and he is a criminal .

If Sammy Boy’s story is true then we have to ask ourselves some questions ;

Why have Gikuyu musicians both secular and gospel kept this matter silent all that time yet they have been visiting him and knew his story since 2015?

Why did Sammy Boy’s wife  ran away as mentioned in the interview if for real Sammy Boy was innocent?
