The little known Linet Chepkorir who beat all the odds to clinch UDA party ticket in Bomet County Women Representative seat

24 year old Linet Chepkorir rose to fame during the United Democratic Alliance party primaries held yesterday April 14 when she clinched Bomet county women representative ticket to fly the party’s flag during the coming August general elections. Chepkorir also known as ‘toto’ defeated the incumbent women representative and five other aspirants to clinch the ticket.

Toto had 53,934 votes beating her closest rival Eunice Benson who came second with 27,711 votes. Stacey Chepkemoi came third with 26,808 votes followed by Beatrice Tonui who had 20,495 votes. Cecilia Mutai emerged fifth with 16,644 votes followed by Susan Koech who came sixth with 12,410 and Brenda Chengetich came last with 11,901 votes in a hotly contested party primaries.

Linet Chepkorir’s biography

Chepkorir was born in 1998 in Bomet County. She is a third born in a family of seven children.

Linet Chepkorir’s Early education

She started her early childhood education education at Chemamun nursery school. She proceeded Kapsimbiri Primary School where she studied her primary education. She then proceeded to Kapsimbiri secondary school where she studied early secondary education that is form 1 and 2. She then went ahead to Siwot secondary schools where she completed her secondary education that is form three and four.

Chepkorir’s tertiary education

After finishing her basic education, she proceeded to Tharaka University College where she studied procurement. Chepkorir currently holds a bachelor’s degree in procurement.

Chepkorir’s Political life

Chepkorir had leadership blood since when she was in her secondary school. Her first leadership role came when she in form four. She was elected the students leader in her secondary school. She did not run for any leadership position again until she decided to run for Bomet county women representative where she emerged with victory in the party primaries.

During her political campaigns, she relied on motorcycles and few vehicles donated to her by well wishers to campaign. This is different from many politicians who use sophisticated cars and dish out money to lure voters. She will be looking to fly the ticket of United Democratic Alliance in the coming August general elections.
