William Kabogo, the leader of the Wakenya Tujibebe Party, is one of the newest members of Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza coalition, and has even started joining him on campaign visits.
He was with the DP in Murang’a on Sunday, when he stated that the DP must do something for the region in exchange for the region’s vote, which he believes the DP would receive.
He claimed that in exchange for the region’s support, Ruto must give away a major piece of his government, a portion equal to the region’s massive population.
“I am qualified to speak on behalf of Agikuyu, and in this region, I will advocate for Ruto.” The Standard quotes him as saying, “I can offer him the majority of votes in this region, but he must give us a piece of the national cake to compensate for our numerical strength.”
He was speaking while criticizing President Uhuru Kenyatta for attempting to mobilize the region behind ODM leader Raila Odinga, claiming he lacked moral authority.
Ruto blamed Uhuru for his failure to reach the presidency, depicting him as an ungrateful man who has turned on him after assisting him twice in winning elections.
He attempted to reignite Railaphorbia in the region, telling residents that he is the same man who has caused havoc following each election.
